In grateful recognition to their efforts in making the school activities possible, the Basic Education Department headed by Ms. Reyett Paunan, the BED Directress, and Area Coordinators, the Parent Representatives and Assistant Parent Representatives of SY 2017-2018 were awarded certificates of recognition last June 22, 2018.

Simbuhan SHS Delegates grab awards in DCPAPSA Journ Stint

Competing with the brave heart of a Tamaraw, the Simbuhan Senior High School Publication delegates showed excellence in journalism as they bagged awards in the 2017 Division of Cavite Province Association of Private School Principals & Administrators, Inc. (DCPAPSPA) journalism workshop-competition held on July 5-7 at Colegio de Sta. Rosa, Trece Martires City, Cavite.

Despite limited training time, the student journalists were able to position FEU Cavite on among the top participants from the 68 participating private schools from the entire Division of Cavite. Furthermore, the three-day seminar-competition, which gathered a total of 1,599 students, is annually conducted by the DCPAPSA to serve as a preliminary workshop for delegates to join the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

With the guidance and support of Simbuhan-SHS Advisers, Ms. Aumi Manansala and Ms. Niezel Buso, the representatives took a place on several categories for the competition. Ronald Gica came in 3rd place in Editorial Cartooning -Filipino, followed by Carl Nicolas Morfe, 3rd place in the News Writing-English. Meanwhile, Angelica Louisse Nollora landed 4th place in Copyreading-English, Patricia Tabuzo, 8th place in Science and Health-English, Arela Chiara Espiritu, 9th place in Photojournalism-English, and Jan Adriel Villafranca, 5th place in Sports Writing-English. Likewise, the collaborative team, which includes: Jaasiel Oriondo, Angela Joyce Caligayahan, Michaela Jean Palo, Jacqueline Magsino, Christian Vidal, Dillen Caparas, and Eloisa Bayan, bagged the 4th place for Collaborative Writing (English)

In line with this, Ms. Aumi Manansala, one of the Simbuhan advisers, aims to continue contributing to the FEU legacy, as well as to the development of the organization.

Father’s Day Celebration

Father’s Day Celebration

The Father’s Day celebration was held last June 30, 2017 with a theme “My Superhero, My Best friend, My Dad.” Students from Kinder 1 to Grade 3 actively participated in this classroom-based event. The activity aimed to celebrate and appreciate all the hard-working and fearless dads. Also, it aimed to inculcate the value of gratitude and respect among students.

The event started with the arts and crafts activity, students in different level were given specific crafts to finish together with their adviser. Also, selected students from different level participated in the poster making activity. Each participant explained their work and related it on how they see their dad as a best friend and a hero. Lastly, all the students from different level headed to the photo booth station and joined their classmates for a photo taking session by showing off their most beautiful and wackiest poses.

Everyone enjoyed the activity and was proud to show off their best works to their dads.


ECE Acquaintance Day 2017

The Early Childhood Department held its Acquaintance Day at FEU BED Audio Visual Room (AVR) last June 16, 2017 where students from Kinder to Grade 3 gathered to play, enjoy and know each other better. They were divided into four groups (blue, red, green and yellow) and competed in various categories.

Each team from K1 and K2 had the “PUZZLE DAZZLE” where red team won by 4 stars. Yellow team won when all grade 1 pupils from each team from grade 1 played the game “HOLD THE BALL”. The room was filled with laughter when each team played the game “FLAG IT”. Players were not allowed to hold the ball with their hands but only with their forehead, cheeks or nose. Each team from grade 3 showed creativity on “CRACK THE CODE” where they had to decode a statement in the fastest time they could. Players from red team screamed their lungs out when they were announced as the winner.

EC Scouts launched

EC Scouts launched

Aiming to prepare the young children on their responsibilities at home, community and nation through scouting, EC area launched its club: the Boys and Girls Scout of the Philippines, for the pupils from grades 1 to 3. There were 31 out of 57 pupils who joined the voluntary movement of being ‘always ready.’

HUMSS faculty beefed up

HUMMS faculty beefed up

Sharing the mission of the Scholastics program, Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMMS) cluster teachers attended the Implementation Training and Seminar of the program that aims to ‘encourage the intellectual and personal growth of all children, beginning with literacy,’ last July 15.

The activities during the training emphasized the techniques on reading aloud stories for children, the art and science of questioning for literacy and navigating the new features of its software application. Scholastics has been with FEU Cavite Basic Education Department in promoting its reading program’s goals for five consecutive years.

MAPEH teachers to modernize CBE

MAPEH teachers to modernize CBE

Special Subjects Cluster (SSC) teachers of the BED JHS attended the 2nd National MAPEH Symposium at University of the Philippines (UP) National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (NISMED),

UP Diliman, Quezon City. The symposium focused on the importance of the culture-based education (CBE) and approach in the K-12 Basic Education Curriculum in teaching contextualized and localized Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health.

(L-R) Ms. Barbara Isidoro and Mr. Jimuel delos Santos represented the SSC who will share the legal, theoretical, and philosophical bases of CBE to their colleagues in FEU Cavite.
