Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management (BSBA-FM) Program provides each graduate with information and practice on financial institutions. It equips them with the technical skills needed to be highly competent in business. These skills and practices are based on established financial theories, methodologies, and analytical tools. Ethics, market integrity, government regulations, good governance, and a competitive global perspective necessary for effective financial decision-making are especially being upheld by the program.

This program aims to produce graduates who are academically prepared, technically equipped, and research-oriented carrying FEUC core values of Fortitude, Excellence, Uprightness, and Compassion who will become globally competent leaders, businessmen, and professionals honed to become agents of our country’s development

 

    Program Objectives

    The program aims to help students acquire analytical skills, perception, and competencies necessary for sound financial decision-making in the business world. It focuses on financial analysis, economics, investment strategies, management systems, banking, and commercial planning. 

    1. Equip students with knowledge of the concepts, principles, and theories of business management to be able to organize and manage activities in the manufacturing, service, financial, and marketing business.
    2. Enable the students to demonstrate/practice critical thinking and problem-solving skills in dealing with hypothetical business operational situations particularly the application of abilities in operating actual business.
    3. Inculcate to the students the core values of Fortitude Excellence, Uprightness and Compassion through socio-civic engagement to become agents of change in an increasingly diverse and interconnected workplace.
    4. Develop leadership qualities of the students to become effective and efficient future leaders/administrators of society.
    5. To enhance students’ professional growth and development thru engagement in different campus activities.

    About the Program

    Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management

    The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM) Program is designed to develop students for entrepreneurial or corporate work in marketing management and for them to be trainable for higher positions in the firm. The students are taught the applicable theories and concepts, and then they are given training on the practical aspects of the various areas of marketing by exposure to actual work situations through assignments in organizations. Students are assigned to research on specific marketing topics, and their findings through interviews with marketing practitioners are presented in class. Also, the Students can integrate all their learning in the major courses in Practicum Program where they work for 300-600 hours (during their last year) in a firm earlier qualified and approved by the department. For this purpose, a final paper in the form of a Marketing Plan, a Service Plan, or a Research Study ensures that the graduate in the Marketing Management Program is prepared to undertake the managerial type of marketing work here in the Philippines or globally.

    The BSBA-MM Program produces well-rounded, globally competitive graduates equipped with the knowledge to cover specific areas in marketing, such as marketing research, distribution management, product management, brand management, personal selling, pricing management, and digital marketing to meet the needs of the changing environment in the business world.

    Program Objectives
    1. To produce technically competent and morally upright professionals who are committed to the ethical practices of their professions and who are dedicated to the country’s development.
    2. Equip students with the knowledge of the principles and concepts of marketing.
    3. Help the students to seek employment and entry level jobs like sales representative or position of responsibility as marketing manager, sales manager, and all marketing executive positions.
    4. To guide the students in organizing for managing entrepreneurial activities if they decide to become an entrepreneur to lessen the unemployment problem.
    5. Prepare the students to pursue a teaching career or graduate studies in Marketing.
    6. To equip students with the knowledge and skills effective for marketing and sales strategies; how a company determines what product or service to sell, how customers and markets are delineated into target demographics and the methods of reaching them. 
    7. The course also focuses on strategic marketing issues that marketing managers assess before findings are presented to their executives. By learning to be an effective marketer and manager, students will learn to respond to the demands of competitors, the government, and larger social issues. Among the concepts and theories that will be discussed are sales management, brand, distribution, e-commerce, franchising, retailing, information technology, and corporate social responsibility.

    Awards Requirements

    The BSBA Marketing Management does not have a board examination. However, graduates may opt to take the Civil Service Examination (CSE) conducted by the Philippine Civil Service Commission (PCSC) to qualify in working in government offices. Graduates or even in the 3rd year or 4th year level may also take the examination for Certified Marketing Professional (CMP) as an added credential. Some graduates opt to take a Master’s degree followed by a Doctorate degree to gain expertise in the industry.
